Solina Group

Leading European provider for the savoury food industry

Solina (“the Group”) designs and produces ingredient-based functional and culinary solutions for the food industry. The Group operates in four business areas: taste solutions (aromatic ingredients), meat solutions (functional ingredients), nutrition (dietetic ingredients) and food service.

At the time of exit, Solina had four production sites and served 4,000 clients in the food industry in France and throughout Europe with a wide range of products combining texture and taste. Clients include food industrialists, catering firms and mass distribution companies. The Group is headquartered in Bréal-sous-Montfort, near Rennes in France.

The Solina Group was formed in July 2011, following the IK 2007 Fund’s acquisition of Savena and Sfinc in the Benelux area. IK exited to Ardian Mid Cap Buyout in December 2015.

Our Value Creation Strategy

During our ownership, we worked alongside the management team to:

  • Organic growth via leveraging strong market position;
  • Develop the existing product range and to launch new products; and
  • Increase international expansion through a series of strategic add-on acquisitions.

Quote from the Client

“Solina pursues a dual strategy, combining organic development and acquisitions with the objective of offering new products and services to our customers while maintaining a high level of flexibility and proximity. Over the last four years, with the help and strong support of IK, Solina has more than exceeded its objectives and become a European leader within its field. We are delighted to start a new stage of our development with new partners who will provide us with human and financial resources to capitalise on our growth potential in Europe and accelerate our export strategy in Asia and the US”
