Industri Kapital announces opening of an office in Paris

Industri Kapital (“IK”), a European private equity firm with existing offices in London, Stockholm, Oslo and Hamburg has opened an office in Paris following a successful track record in the French market.

IK is increasing its presence and dedication to the French market building on its team of four investment professionals who have deep knowledge of the French market. IK will continue its hands on approach of investing in businesses with strong and successful management teams where there is potential for further growth and development.

Christopher Masek, Partner at IK, said “The opening of a dedicated Paris office reflects the increasing importance of the French market to Industri Kapital, as well as the success of our previous transactions. This will allow us to strengthen our presence and reinforce our position as a key player in the French market.”

IK has been investing in France since 2000 and has made a total of 8 investments to date.   Current and past portfolio companies include Group Cerba, SIA Group, Bonna Sabla, Idex, CEVA Santé Animale, Labeyrie, Groupe Fives-Lille and Laho Equipement.

Group Cerba, via Laboratoire Pasteur Cerba, carries out specialised tests for routine testing laboratories and hospitals, and has a leading position in France. Acquired in 2006.
SIA Group is a renowned brand within the interior decoration industry. Acquired in 2005.
Consolis (ex Bonna Sabla) is the market leader in prefabricated concrete in Europe. Acquired in 2005. Idex is France’s largest independent energy and environment services company. Idex’s core activity is the technical maintenance and management of energy. Acquired in 2004. CEVA Santé Animale develops, manufactures and distributes Animal Health products. The company’s main expertise lies within the anti-infectives, vaccines and reproduction control devices areas. Acquired in 2003.

Past:
Laho Equipement is one of the leading construction equipment rental groups in France. Sold to Barclays Private Equity in April 2005.
Labeyrie is a French company producing upmarket branded food products sold on the French, Dutch, Belgian and Spanish markets. Sold to SIF in December 2004.
Groupe Fives-Lille is an international industrial engineering group that designs and produces equipment, primarily for the automotive, steel and aluminium industries. Sold to Barclays Private Equity France in August 2004.
