Erkko Etula receives the Industri Kapital scholarship of 25,000 euros

Erkko Etula, 21, has been appointed a recipient of the Industri Kapital scholarship of 25,000 euros.

The Industri Kapital scholarship, which is awarded once a year, is granted to a young Finnish economics or technology student for further or parallel studies in the USA. The scholarship is administered by the Association of Finland-America Associations and this was the fourth time it was awarded.

Erkko Etula is studying the final year of a BSc in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is one of the world’s leading technical colleges. After graduation, Erkko Etula will continue with a doctoral dissertation in interest theory under the supervision of Nobel Prize-winning professor Paul A. Samuelson. Erkko Etula intends to complete a doctoral degree (PhD in Economics) over the next five years.

Erkko Etula graduated with honors from the prestigious United World College of the Atlantic in Wales. Before moving to the United States, Erkko Etula studied at the Faculties of Technical Physics and Production Economics at the University of Technology in Espoo.

Previously, the same scholarship was awarded for MBA degrees to Pasi Tolmunen (2001) and Aki Kettunen (2002). Tolmunen and Kettunen both studied at Tulane University in New Orleans. In 2003 received Nelli East scholarship for an economics doctorate (PhD in Finance) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
